Lenovo just announced that an all new smartphone called the Z1 will be launched in five days on May 10th in India. The announcement was made in the company’s official social media page. Original name of the device is ZUK Z1 because the phone is actually being made by Zuk but the entire project is funded by Lenovo.
The handset features a 5.5-inch full HD screen and Cyanogen’s special Android-based software which is highly customizable. The runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor that comes coupled with 3GB RAM. The device also comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card. Speaking of the camera, the Lenovo Z1 sports a 13-megapixel SONY IMX214 camera on the rear and 8-megapixel camera. A 4100mAh battery completes the package. As for connectivity, Z1 features Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, GPS, WiFi, 4G Radio and fingerprint reader.
Note that Lenovo Z1 runs on Cyanogen and its worth noting that when Micromax devices came out with Cyanogen OS, the former company announced that Micromax will not be the only company with this OS for long.

To recall, around the time OnePlus started selling smartphones with Cyanogen OS, Cyanogen Inc. announced that they are giving exclusive rights to manufacture its Yu-branded smartphones to Micromax. Following this both OnePlus and Micromax got involved into to a legal tussle. At the end, OnePlus had to build its very town operating system called Oxygen so that the handset can be sold in India. As of now, according to court order, only OnePlus can sell smartphones with Cyanogen OS.
