Niantic is yet to release Pokemon Go in Windows smartphones, so users had downloaded the apk file of the game. But the recent Niantic security update stopped third-party tracking sites from accessing the game. It looks like a new Windows 10 app is now has brought the game back to Windows players.
How to Get Pokemon Go on Windows 10?
The new Windows 10 app is named PoGo-UWP, and it’s pretty easy to install. Just follow the set of instructions and get the app downloaded and installed on your phone. And then start playing. Note that the game is in its a beta version, and it’s likely that Niantic will block this one too, but the developers are pretty bent on providing the Pokemon Go experience to Windows phone users.
Speaking on shutting down Pokemon GO Tracking Sites, Niantic CEO John Hanke said: “We have priorities right now, but they might find in the future that those things may not work. People are only hurting themselves because it takes some fun out of the game. People are hacking around trying to take data out of our system, and that’s against our terms of service.” Niantic had sent out cease-and-desist letters to sites like Pokevision and Pokehound to put a stop to third-party intervention in the game. But the games latest updates has brought back the battery save mode, along with a new tracker feature. Niantic Labs id currently testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a certain number of users. Trainers can now change their nickname for once. And the update page on iTunes said, some of the users may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
