Kodak Ektra Smartphone With 21-megapixel Camera launched in Europe at €499

Camera company Kodak has recently launched a new Camera focused smartphone for photo-enthusiasts. The new smartphone named Kodak Ektra boasts of DSLR-like modes and features and has been launched in Europe at €499 (roughly Rs. 36,800). Manufactured by a UK-based company called Bullitt Group, the firm has licensed Kodak’s intellectual property and brand to make this smartphone which boasts of a huge camera lens at the back and Kodak will hope that the Ektra does become the go-to camera phone for every photography enthusiast who look for a light-weighted shooter to carry around.

Hardware and Battery Specifications

The new Kodak Ektra features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 441 ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Helio X20 deca-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 32GB of internal storage with the option to expand further via a microSD card slot.

The smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery, supports USB Type-C charging, and measures 147.8mm x 73.35mm x 9.69mm.

Camera Specifications

The camera of this new smartphone by Kodak is definitely a highlighted feature as it does contain optical specifications which are hard to find even in the premium smartphones of today. The Kodak Ektra boasts of a huge 21-megapixel fast-focus camera rear sensor with OIS, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and dual-LED Flash. The camera app in the smartphone comes with quintessential DSLR modes like Smart Auto, Portrait, Manual, Sports, Bokeh, Night-time, HDR, Panorama, Macro, Landscape, and 4K Video Capture. There’s also an Advanced Manual mode that allows users to adjust exposure, ISO, focal length (Manual/Auto), white balance, shutter speed, and aperture (fixed f2.0 main camera). It comes with a pre-loaded app called Print that lets you order physical copies of the pictures as well.

Apart from the incredibly equipped rear camera, the Kodak Ektra also sports an impressive 13-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF for selfie and video calling purposes. The device also contains a widget that recommends many photo-editing apps like Prisma and Adobe Lightroom with the Snapseed application already installed by default.
