Amidst Reliance Jio and the insanely low prices for 4G internet, Reliance Communication, led by Anil Ambani, has introduced India’s first ever landline phones with 4G LTE facility. RComm has introduced a wire-free and a buffer-free 4G LTE HomePhone which comes with a 4G SIM slot and can double up as a wireless router for other devices in your home.
Just like smartphones, users will be able to carry this landline phone wherever you want to, since it is essentially connected wirelessly through its sim card slot. So it is not a fixed line and will not lose connection, even if there is no 4G network around, as it is will slip into 3G/2G depending on the area.
The device features a 3.5-inch TFT touchscreen and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The wireless HomePhone will let users connect up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices thanks to its hotspot functionality.
RComm is offering some exciting offers with this landline. The telco will be offering two plans – 4G Smart Life 299 and 4G Smart Life 499 at Rs 299 and Rs 499 respectively. The former offer 2GB of data per month, while the latter offers 4GB of data every month. After the data quota is over, the prices have not be disclosed, but have been promised to be low. Both the plans bundle 300 local and STD minutes every month, and 40 paise per minute once the free minutes are over. Every SMS will cost 25 paise for local and 38 paise for STD.
The company is heavily promoting the new device and touts-“Live life wire fee and buffer-free with India’s first 4G LTE HomePhone.” as an advertising line for this latest offering by Reliance Communication.
