Although BlackBerry has lost its ground in the smartphone market and slowly pulling out of making their own hardware, it seems like one final BlackBerry phone is coming in our way. We first heard about the BlackBerry Mercury in last June, and the phone was listed on the GeekBench in last October, now the live images of the device have been landed on the internet today. The CEO of the company John Chen also confirmed the existence of the phone last month and now the fans are eager to know the BlackBerry Mercury release date and the key specs.
As we mentioned, the first two pictures of the phone appeared on Weibo today and look very similar to the photo got leaked on the internet last June. The images show us that the BlackBerry Mercury will come with a polarising design and the ambient light sensor and the proximity sensor is placed on the other side of the earpiece. These two images also reveal that handset will feature a front camera, which was hidden on the previously leaked image. And maintaining the charm and USP of BlackBerry, the phone will come with a QWERTY keyboard.
If we talk about the BlackBerry Mercury specs, the phone is expected to flaunt a 4.5-inch display with a 3:2 screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the phone will house a 2.0GHz processor as a part of a Qualcomm chipset clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. On the camera aspect, the handset is expected to come with an 18-megapixel primary rear shooter and the front camera we mentioned above should be of 8-megapixel. As it is visible in the images, the phone will run on Android OS but not on Nougat as it was first rumoured. Notably, BlackBerry has launched every phone with the Android OS since they launched the BlackBerry Priv.
