The Mercury is set to make a splash upon launch.

Blackberry Mercury Specs and Features

The much-hyped BlackBerry Mercury will run the Android 7 Nougat mobile operating system. The phone seems to feature a sharp display at a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels (420 ppi density) on a 4.5-inch AMOLED display. The BlackBerry Mercury is said to feature 3GB of RAM mated to 32GB onboard internal storage. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, an octa-core mobile processor and a 3400 mAh battery which will provide an all-day phone usage experience on a single charge.

Let’s talk features. The BlackBerry Mercury is expected to sport a full physical QWERTY keyboard making on-screen navigation buttons redundant.  BlackBerry CEOJohn Chen has promised that the new smartphone will be a very competent performer. We had reported earlier that the bigger Snapdragon 821 processor would run the phone: we can now confirm that TCL has chosen to stick to the lower version of the Snapdragon processor. Earlier in September, Blackberry parent company Research in Motion (RIM) stated its intentions to be a software-only company and sold its handset business to TCL, the Chinese major, which also owns the Alcatel brand. TCL will produce and sell all future Blackberry phones, except the DTEK 70 or the Mercury, in all countries barring India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia. Indonesia, incidentally,  is the largest market for BlackBerry phones. Also in September, Blackberry signed an agreement with Indonesia’s BB Merah Putih allowing it to produce and sell BlackBerry phones locally
