Vivo Set To launch the V5 Plus With Dual Front Cameras on January 23, 2017

China-based smartphone manufacturing company Vivo is planning to launch the new Flagship smartphone under its ‘V series’ in India – the V5 Plus. It is the successor of recently launched Vivo V5 which did quite a fair share of business in the market and hence the company is deciding to expand their device line-up further with the new premium variant.

Chinese smartphone makers Vivo all set to launch the Vivo V5 Plus on January 23, 2017.

Vivo has started Sending some of the media invites for the event which is going to be held on 23rd January 2017. There is two invite aperture module – coupled with a tagline that reads ‘for the biggest selfie camera revolution’ making it quite obvious that like the previous device, the V5 Plus will also feature a mammoth front camera specification. The Vivo V5 Plus is among the very few smartphones that feature dual-selfie cameras. The only other smartphone available in India with this feature is the Lenovo Vibe S1. The setup on the Vibe S1 includes an 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.2 aperture to capture images and a 2-megapixel snapper that analyses the depth-of-field. Together the cameras work to capture photos with DSLR-like bokeh effects, and also let users change the focus of the photo and also swap backgrounds.

The company recently launched the Vivo V5 which comes with a 20-megapixel selfie camera accompanied by a moonlight glow LED flash, Sony IMX376 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 5p lens. Priced at Rs 17,980, the device comes in crown gold and space grey colour options. The V5 Plus by the Chinese company is definitely slated to bear improvements from its predecessor and a ramp up in the screen size. The upcoming smartphone is slated to feature a  5.9 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) display with  Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Other reports pertaining to the device point at a 4 GB RAM specification, a MediaTek processor as well as 64 GB of on-board device memory. On the software front, while the V5 came with Android marshmallow, the V5 is slated to make an appearance with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed in it.

The Chinese company has put in a January 23 launch date on their upcoming device which is pegged to cost approximately Rs. 21,999 post its official launch later this month.
