Nokia 8 Leaks Point At Snapdragon 835 Processor and Android 7.0 Nougat

Nokia’s re-entry into the smartphone market is already one of the most talked about topics in the tech industry and whether the companies migration to manufacturing Android smartphone be enough to get them back in the game is what is left to be seen. The CES 2017 in Las Vegas had large expectations from Nokia who were expected to announce the much talked about Nokia 8 smartphone but unfortunately, the Microsoft-acquired company chose to stay tight-lipped regarding their upcoming device.

However, that has not stopped tech enthusiasts from delving into the depths of the company’s device launching plans and quite predictably, a considerable number of specifications have been obtained for the forthcoming Nokia 8 have surfaced.

Nokia 8 is one of the upcoming smartphones which Nokia is rolling out with an Android Operating System.

Nokia 8 Smartphone Specifications

The upcoming android device from Nokia is expected to sport Qualcomm’s latest 10 nanometer chipset, the Snapdragon 835 processor which is already pegged to be 20% faster than the Snapdragon 821. The device is also expected to sport 6GB of RAM as well as 64/128 GB storage options supporting extension via Micro-SD cards up to 256 GB. It will run on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Marshmallow.

The Nokia 8, which is due to appear sometime in 2017 is pegged to sport a 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen sporting a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (~515 ppi pixel density) and protected by Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 5 technology. On the camera front, the device is slated to feature a 24MP Rear camera with OIS, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The rear shooter will also pack in-camera features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama It will also sport a front 12MP shooter for selfie and video calling purposes. The latest reports do suggest that the lenses will be manufactured by Carl Zeiss.

The Nokia 8 is slated to be available in two different variants primarily differentiated on their storage size specification with one model offering 64GB and the other 128 GB. Although an announcement for the Nokia 8 is expected at the forthcoming MWC event, it is not confirmed whether the device will actually feature at the event in February or not.
