The 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5 is the latest iteration of the J5 range and is one of Samsung’s biggest and most powerful entrants in the smartphone market. This is the smaller edition of the Galaxy J7 range. Known by its model number SM-J530, the 2017 Galaxy J5 will come with 2GB of RAM and is powered by the in-house developed Exynos 7870 SoC or System on Chip. This is Samsung’s own reply to the mighty chipsets manufactured by rivals.

The 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5 will come with a 4.8-inch Full HD display with a decent, if not extraordinary, resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The touchscreen display will support at least 5 finger gesture support. An octa-core CPU @ 1.5 GHz with the Samsung Exynos 7870 processor is expected as well. This new Exynos processor is said to be the latest in Samsung’s processors and is lightning fast. The graphics processing unit is the Mali T830 GPU. The new phone will have a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage.

The 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5 will have a 12MP rear camera as well as a 12MP front camera. The rear camera can take HD pictures and support HD video recording as well. With a resolution of 4128×3196 pixels, very high definition pictures will also be supported by the rear primary camera. The front camera with 12MP is also capable of excellent selfies and video calling. However, the rear camera will not be capable of taking HDR photos. Other camera features will include autofocus, face detection, and touch focus.

Other features on the 2017 Samsung Galaxy j5 will be an accelerometer, an altimeter, a gyroscope, a nifty proximity sensor, and Wi-Fi. The price of the new phone is not known at the moment. The launch date is imminent, as the listing informs us.
