ZTE Nubia M2: ZTE seems to be on a roll lately, introducing one new device after the other across countries. Yesterday the Chinese electronics company launched the photography-centric Nubia Z11 Mini S in India as an online exclusive device with an added focus on battery performance. Today, they have launched two new devices in the Nubia lineup in China, named the Nubia M2 and the Nubia M2 Lite.
The ZTE Nubia M2 smartphone had been rumored about for a while, but people got a couple of details wrong starting with the lineup itself. However, the more important bits like the long rumored dual-lens camera set up have come true. The new smartphones appear to adhere to the design and aesthetic values of the Nubia smartphones, which put a great deal of thought to the looks aspect. The Nubia M2 is the higher end model among the recent launches, and it certainly sports the looks to go along with that. It sports a thin, smooth build that houses a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 and Gorilla Glass protection. At the front bottom portion, there is the physical home button with a red circle at its center.
Under the hood, the ZTE Nubia M2 smartphone comes similar specs as the Z11 Mini S. It is powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU and comes with 4GB of RAM. Storage options include 64GB and 128GB variants, with microSD support for further expansion. The new smartphone is the first smartphone with a dual lens camera set up at the back to come from the company. The unit is equipped with two 13MP (one RGB and the other B/W) sensors at the back with f/2.2 aperture. At the front, there is a 16MP shooter for video calling and selfies. The device is backed by an impressive 3,630mAh battery that comes with fast charging support. Prices start at about $392 for the base model.
Today’s other launch, Nubia M2 Lite, sports comparatively modest specs with a 5.5 HD screen, a single 13MP f/2.2 camera at the back, and an octa-core MediaTek processor coupled with a Mali GPU. Storage options include a 3GB/ 32GB model and another 4GB/ 64GB one, and both are backed by a 3,ooomAh battery. There is microSD support for this one as well. A new Nubia N2 has been launched as well, with its most distinguishing feature being a massive 5,000mAh battery.
Coming to the prices of these last two, the ZTE Nubia M2 Lite will start retailing at approximately $261, while the N2 will be priced at $299. Sales in China will commence from April, but there is currently no information about their availability in other countries.
