ASUS X00KD Images Leaked, Reveal Dual Rear Cameras

It seems that Asus is upping the ante as far the VR revolution in the smartphone arena is concerned. This is the first time that this Asus device has been seen in public. The TENAA listing has not revealed any key features, however. But a recent listing on the popular benchmarking site, GFXBench, has belted out a bit more info. The one thing seemingly clear from the GFXBench listing is the ASUS X00KD will likely be an entry-level smartphone equipped with fairly modest hardware.

Asus X00KD Specs and Features

The device will possibly feature a 5-inch 720p display panel and is set to be powered by a quality MediaTek MT6737 SoC. This chip will also possibly arrive with the ARM Mali-T720 GPU which is coupled with an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU which has been clocked at a maximum of 1.3GHz. Also on offer is a fine 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. However, sources suggest that only around 10GB will be user-accessible, according to the GFXBench report.

The new Asus X00KD will also have outstanding imaging options, as the upcoming ASUS smartphone is rumored to enter the market with either a 12 or 13-megapixel primary camera which will have other outstanding auto-focus, face detection, and flash. The front-facing secondary camera is also expected to come with a 5-megapixel sensor which will be able to record videos at 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). As far as sensors go, the device is also expected to ship with an accelerometer, a magnetometer (which is essentially an e-compass), an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a very handy GPS. We do not yet know if this upcoming device will be marketed as the next installment or the successor to ASUS’ “GO” series, which is a series of entry-level smartphones. Asus enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer as no official word has yet been received.
