The sequel to 2014’s Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming out in August and the developers have given fans no lack of updates on its progress. A few weeks back, Monolith Productions pushed out a video that expanded upon the highly improved Nemesis System is the game. Fans acquainted with the first title know what a big deal the feature was, and we love that Monolith is taking the pains to build upon the system to make it even more extensive. Today, the creators have rolled out a new trailer that may not be a walkthrough, but gives us a look at the beautiful world of the game.
According to the creators, the new trailer aims to introduce us to the “vast environments within Middle-earth, stretching beyond Mordor, and giving fans the first glimpse of various new environments to explore, including the Island of Nurn, Cirith Ungol, Gorgoroth and more. Through the innovative Nemesis System, every player experiences a unique world to explore and share and every area of the world is larger, more varied and more dynamic than ever before.”
For those who are yet unaware, Middle Earth: Shadow of War is an upcoming action adventure title inspired by the works of Tolkien. In the new trailer, you can see gorgeous landscapes ranging from icy ravines to pristine forests, before it focuses on the man-made structures. The dynamic fortresses that we had seen in the preceding Nemesis System walkthrough make a reappearance here. Orcs form a significant part of the trailer too, and Talion dramatically takes on quite a few of them. A magnificent fire-breathing drake concludes the trailer by laying waste to the fortress grounds.
Shadow of War is set somewhere between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The game is set to come out for the PS4, Xbox One, and the Windows PC on August 22, 2017 in the US, with players in Europe getting the game on August 25.
