Multinational telecommunications company Motorola has announced that its latest flagship will be released on Thursday, June 1. It is expected that the flagship is none other than Moto Z2 Play. Motorola Canada has a tweeted that “Guess what?! We’re announcing the next bold phone from Motorola on June 1st.”
Moto Z2 Play is the next iteration of the company’s 2016 smartphone Moto Z Play. It is being speculated that Moto Z2 Play will come in three color variants – Deep Grey, Gold, and Silver. The device might also come with a capsule-shaped home button and the Moto branding has been pushed from the bottom to the top of the device just beneath the earpiece.
The highly anticipated device is believed to come with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, similar to that of its predecessor. It will be powered by Snapdragon 626 chip clocked at 2.2GHz, as per NDTV Gadget 360 Degrees.
An image of the device has been leaked in Google Plus along with a sealed box. A screenshot of the CPU-Z app has also surfaced online which has revealed all of the specifications of the device.
Speaking of its storage capacity, it will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. Coming to its camera, it will have a 12megapixel primary camera with a f/1.7 aperture and Dual Pixel autofocus, laser autofocus, 4K video recording and Sony IMX362 sensor. Its secondary camera will be a 5megapixel one with OmniVision OV5695 sensor, dual-tone LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.
The device might feature a 3,000mAh battery. It is also expected that the thickness of the device will be dropped than how it was in its predecessor.
Two other smartphones by the company might also see a release this year – Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus.
Motorola is owned by Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo. There are three smartphone brands under Lenovo – the premium-tier Motorola, an online-focused Zuk and the affordable Lenovo series.
