Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3310 May Be Delayed in The UK: Reports

Looks like HMD Global, which manufactures smartphones and feature phones under the iconic Nokia brand, still, has some way to go before it reclaims the crown as the premier brand in the world. Now, however, it seems that the launch in the UK will be delayed, the phenomenon blamed on short supply of parts from OEMs. Tech enthusiasts will remember that pre-orders for all the three sets had already begun and the new phones were supposed to be sold from the Clove stores, UK’s popular retailer.

Now, it seems that Clove has stopped taking pre-orders. While the details and the reasons behind this unexpected decision remain unsolved, it does seem that a supply chain snag has hit Nokia. This might mean that these phones might release in India late as well. This source suggests that the volumes of pre-orders were so high that Nokia was forced to cancel them.

“We understand your concerns about the pre-order option having been removed from our website. Demand has been very high, but please check back in a few days and you will be able to pre-order again,” emailed Clove UK to customers.

It was expected that Nokia 3310 would come to the UK on May 24 for £49.99 but it now seems that it will take some time to reach all the major carriers.

Nokia 3 Specs and Features

The new Nokia 3 will be priced at €139 (around $147 or Rs 9824) and the device will ship with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720×1,280 pixels of resolution (together with 294 ppi pixel density), with power supplied by a Mediatek MT6737 processor and an Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. We expect 2GB RAM complemented by a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). On photography, this new smartphone will feature an 8MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, LED flash and 1.12 µm pixel size, and video calling and selfie will be admirably taken care of by an 8MP front snapper along with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, and a 2,650mAh battery.
