Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Launched Today, May Come In India In A Couple Of Months

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest flagship Xiaomi Mi Max 2 today at 11:30 AM (IST) at an event in China. It is the successor of the last year’s Xiaomi Mi Max, which was launched last year. It proved to be a huge success with the company shipping around 1.5 million units of the device in just two months of its release. The company is hoping that its successor will also be met with similar fate.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has pretty big shoes to fill, coming right off of the huge success that its predecessor, Xiaomi Mi Max witnessed.

Speaking of the specifications, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will come in two variants. The first one will sport 4GB RAM along with Snapdragon 626 SoC model, which has been priced at CNY 1,499 (around Rs. 14,000 in Indian value). The other one will have 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 660 SoC, which has been priced at CNY 1,699 (approximately Rs. 16,000). It is also being expected that the company might introduce a 128GB storage variant to the device too.

Coming to its display, it will have a 6.44-inch full HD display with 1080*1920 pixels. It will be backed by 5349mAh battery.

Besides, it also will sport a 12megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor and a 5megapixel secondary camera. It will come with an all-metal body, as per NDTV Gadget 360 Degrees. The 3.5mm audio jack will be placed at the top of the device, while the fingerprint scanner is situated at the center at the back, similar to its predecessor. It will also have a USB Type-C port.

To look back, the original Mi Max also sported the same 6.44-inch full HD display as that of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. It came in two variants, one with hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, and the other one with an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor. There were also two storage variants; the RAM storage variants were 3GB and 4GB, while the internal storage variants were 32GB and 128GB. Moreover, it had 4G LTE support and was backed by a 4,850 battery.
