Moto X Play To Receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update Soon In India

Moto X Play, the latest flagship from Motorola Moto, is going to get the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update very soon in India. The company confirmed the news through its official Twitter account, although the release date has not been revealed as of yet.

The new update will provide ‘Doze On The Go’ feature to Moto X Play for extended battery life.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will bring with itself a number of enhancements including split-screen multitasking features. It also will provide better battery life, improved Google keyboard, recent applications window and enhanced notifications. Besides, the latest Android update will also bring in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps. It will also come with ‘Doze On The Go’ for extended battery life. The update will also see Google Duo, the video calling app, making its way to the smartphone. It also will provide new and updated array of emoji and quick settings bar.

The news comes two months after the company stated that Moto Z Play will get an Android 7.1.1 update.

Looking at its specifications, Moto X Play features a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080 pixels) resolution and Coning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen is protected by a water-repellent coating. It runs on 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor along with Adreno 405 graphic processor. It has a storage capacity of 2GB RAM and comes in two different internal storage variants – 16GB and 32GB. This internal memory can be moreover expanded to 128GB via microSD, as per India Today.

Coming to its camera, the device has a 21megapixel primary camera and a 5megapixel secondary camera. The primary camera has option for full HD video recording option, 4X digital zoom, f/2.0 aperture, slow motion video recording, Quick Capture, Panorama features and Auto HDR. The back panel also sports two LED lights. Its connectivity options include dual-band WiFi (a/b/g/n), 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 LE  version, WiFi Hotspot, FM radio, GPS with A-GPS, micro USB 2.0 and NFC. It is backed by a powerful 3,630mAh battery.

It was launched two years ago at a price of Rs. 18,499. That same year, it came at a lower price of Rs. 16,499.
