OnePlus 5 With Android 7.1.1 Nougat Launched In India Today

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 5 in India today at a Mumbai event. The device is available in two storage variants. The first variant features 6GB RAM/64GB internal storage, while the second variant has 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage. They are priced at Rs. 32,999 and Rs. 37,99 respectively. OnePlus 5 is exclusively available on Amazon India, and the sale will start from June 27.

OnePlus 5 is the third smartphone in the world which is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor after Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony XZ Premium. It has been three years in the making.

One of the key highlights of OnePlus 5 is its dual camera set-up. The primary camera of the phone consists of a 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel modules with LED flash. The 16-megapixel sports a f/1.7 aperture. On the other hand, the 20-megapixels telephoto zoom lens features a f/2.6 aperture. The device can record slow motion videos at 120 frames per second and 4K videos. The secondary camera is of 16-megapixel.

It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Oxygen 4.5 and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. This is the third smartphone in the world which is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor after Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony XZ Premium. It has a 5.5-inch display.

Having a metal unibody design which is 7.25mm slim, the device features a physical home button, which also functions as a fingerprint scanner, which can unlock your device in 0.2 seconds. It is available in two color variants – Slate Grey and Midnight Black.

The company has claimed that the device has been three years in the making. Its connectivity options include WiFi, NFC, GPS, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 5.0. It is the successor to the company’s smartphone OnePlus 3T, which was launched in December 2016. OnePlus will also organize pop-up events in four different Indian cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and New Delhi.
