Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Price Dropped As Launch Date Of Mi Note 3 Comes Nearer

Xiaomi Mi Note 2, which is part of Chinese electronic company Xiaomi‘s high-end smartphone line has received a drop in its price in its home country, China. The device which was earlier priced at 2,799 Yuan (which is around Rs. 26,400) has now been priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 23,600). Among the many probable reasons behind the drop in the price is the launch date of Xiaomi Mi Note 3 nearing up. It will be unveiled in July this year. It seems that the company wants to sell out the Mi Note 2 version before the Mi Note 3 come up, as its market would more likely to fall out because of the later’s release.

The display of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was poorly received by fans and critics, and this is being considered as one of the reasons for the drop in its price.

Another reason might be related to the poor reception of the display of Mi Note 2, which resulted in fewer sales. The developers are probably expecting a growth in sales rate with the steep fall in price, as per The Android Soul.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2, which was launched in November 2016 sports a 5.7-inch display, having a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels along with a 3D surface glass. It comes with a 22.56-megapixel primary camera and an 8megapixel secondary camera. It is backed by a 4,070mAh non-removable Li-Pro battery and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Soc. Speaking of its storage facility, it features 4GB/6GB RAM of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal memory. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, A2DP, LE, among others.

On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi Note 3 might be powered by Snapdragon 836 Soc or Snapdragon 835 SoC processor and have a dual curved AMOLED display. It will have a 4,000mAh nono-removable Li-Ion battery with support for fast charging. It comes with multiple sensors such as fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity, and barometer. It will run on Android 7.1 Nougat.
