LG Q8 Launched, May Be A Smaller Flagship Cousin of The LG V20

LG, the South Korean giant, has unveiled a new device, called the LG Q8. The newest member of LG’s popular Q series, whose other members include the LG Q6, which was spotted recently on Geekbench, and the LG Q6+. The new LG Q8 resembles a smaller version of LG’s flagship from last year, the LG V20, which could hold its own even against the other flagships of the ‘G’ series.

LG Q8 Specs and Features

The new smartphone boasts of a 5.2-inch QHD IPS LCD display panel and also has a secondary display. The rear end looks very similar to the LG V20. The display is very impressive given the 106×1040 pixel resolution while the screen itself is offered further protection thanks to the Gorilla Glass 4 on top.

The new LG Q8 has a full metal body with IP67 waterproofing and also has Quad DAC, a technology which leads to better audio output. All in all, it is a smaller and water resistant version of the LG V20, according to this report. At the heart of the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor; the LG V20, incidentally, was powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset. Also, there will be 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via a MicroSD card.

The new smartphone is expected to pack quite a punch with the 3,000 mAh battery, which will be non-removable. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Also on board is a fingerprint sensor on the rear along with a horizontally aligned dual camera arrangement.

Speaking of the cameras, they are decent too. The rear cameras have 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. The front snapper has a 5-megapixel sensor and will be ideal for video calling and selfies. The rear camera will be able to shoot 4K 2160p video, while the front snapper has a very thoughtful wide angle lens capable of recording 1080p video. The pricing structure of the new LG Q8, however, is still unknown.
