OnePlus 5 vs Blackberry KEYone: Yet Again, The Flagship Killer Strikes

When it comes to new devices, there are very few offerings which can match up to the likes of the OnePlus 5 and the Blackberry KEYone. The new Blackberry KEYone is coming to India soon, and a few days ago, we had witnessed how the OnePlus 5 had fared against the HTC U Ultra. We will now see how the new Blackberry device stacks up against the OnePlus 5. Here we go.

The OnePlus 5 has a 5.5-inch display Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a superb picture clarity with 401 PPI or Pixels Per Inch. Extra protection is offered thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Blackberry KEYone, on the other hand, has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display which has a resolution of 1620×1080 pixels. The display is a tad sharper thanks to the 433 PPI, while the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In effect, the OnePlus 5 wins this round.

The OnePlus 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC which is an Octa-Core CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz. Also on board is the Adreno 506 GPU. The OnePlus 5 has better specs in this segment as well, as it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. This processor has eight cores and is clocked at 2.45 GHz. With the Adreno 540 GPU, the OnPlus 5 is clearly ahead.

On the other hand, the Blackberry device has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, which is expandable. The OnePlus 5 has two variants, one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage while the more premium variant has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. However, the OnePlus 5 does not support expandable storage. In the end, the OnePlus 5 wins this round as well.

The OnePlus 5 has on board dual rear cameras: one being a 16MP camera while the other has a 20MP sensor. Also on board is PDAF or Phase Detection Autofocus, Dual LED Flash, and 2X optical zoom. The OnePlus 5 has a 16MP front snapper with Auto HDR and EIS or Electronic Image Stabilization.

On the other hand, the Blackberry KEYone boasts a single 12MP rear camera with PDAF and Dual LED Flash. The front cam has an 8MP sensor and f/2.2 aperture. In the end, the OnePlus 5 is more than capable of winning this round as well.

The OnePlus device is powered by a 3,505 mAh Li-Ion battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0. The Blackberry KEYone is juiced by a 3,300 mAh Li-ion battery with Dash Charge. Both devices have non-removable batteries. In the end, the Blackberry KEYone wins this round but not by much.
