Xiaomi’s Upcoming Flagship, Codenamed ‘Chiron’ To Feature Bezel-Less Design

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi‘s next flagship device, which has been apparently codenamed as ‘Xiaomi Chiron’ is speculated to feature a 6-inch bezel-less display with a resolution of 1080*2160 pixels. It is likely to get supplied by Japan Display, which is a technology joint venture by Hitachi, Toshiba, and Sony. With an aspect ratio of 18:9, it is bound to give some spectacular visuals.

Speculations hint that the Xiaomi Chiron will be modeled after LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8.

Earlier, it was speculated that Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is going to sport a 6-inch bezel-less display. If this indeed turns out to be true, then there is a high chance that Redmi Pro 2 is actually Xiaomi Chiron.  However, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 and Xiaomi Note 3 are also going to feature bezel-less design. Therefore, nothing can be said with certainty.

As far as the storage capacity of the device is concerned, reports suggest that it will feature a whopping 8GB of RAM. We have already seen OnePlus 5, Nubia Z17 and Zenfone AR feature 8GB of RAM.

Further speculations also hint that the upcoming device will be modeled after LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8. So, we can definitely expect Xiaomi Chiron to have one the best looks of the Nokia smartphones released so far.

The news comes moments after Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was listed on Geekbench. This device was powered by octa-core Qualcomm 1.90GHz Snapdragon 835 chipset. It will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Having a 6.4-inch display with 2560*1440 pixels, it is expected that it will come in three storage variants – 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It will be backed by a powerful 4,500mAh battery. Reports claim that the device will arrive in India on July 26.
