Both OnePlus and Huawei have made very good progress in the recent years. The OnePlus 5 has been in the news for all the right reasons and it has shown excellent prowess against its opponents in our recent face-offs. The OnePlus 5 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Also, the display is pretty sharp thanks to the 401 ppi aboard. The Huawei P10 has a 5.1-inch IPS-NEO LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1020 pixels. The display also boasts of 432 ppi. Both the devices are protected by the newest Gorilla Glass 5. The OnePlus 5 wins this round.
OnePlus 5 vs Huawei P10: Processors
The OnePlus 5 device is powered by the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.45 GHz. This is an Octa-Core processor and is mated with the Adreno 540 GPU for better performance. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC which is clocked at 2.4GHz. This too is an Octa-Core processor and is mated with the Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. Overall, this round is a tie.
OnePlus 5 vs Huawei P10: RAM and Storage Capacities
The OnePlus 5 comes in two variants: one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage while the more premium version comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In both instances, the storage is non-expandable. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 comes with two variant on offer, with 4GB of RAM being constant in each case and with storage options of 32GB and 64GB. The storage capacities, however, are expandable. Overall, the OnePlus 5 wins this round.
OnePlus 5 Vs Huawei P10: Camera and Optics
Both the devices excel in this round. The OnePlus 5 has a dual rear camera module with dual-LED flash. One camera has a 16-megapixel Sony sensor with another bearing a 20-megapixel sensor ramped up with a f/2.6 telephoto lens. The front snapper has a 16-megapixel sensor and a f/2.0 aperture. The Huawei P10, on the other hand, also boasts of a dual rear-camera module with one 12-megapixel RGB sensor which is paired with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The front snapper has an 8MP sensor. Overall, the OnePlus 5 is ahead.
Verdict
As we can see, the OnePlus 5 is a better buy but the Huawei P10 is no pushover either. All Huawei has to do is incorporate a bigger screen and pack in a bigger RAM. Then, the competition will be much closer and neck and neck.
