The Chinese smartphone manufacturing company Elephone has finally launched the latest flagship of the company, dubbed as the Elephone S8. The company showcased the device a couple of months ago but finally launched the handset a few days ago. The Elephone S8 is being called as the ‘tri-bezel-less’ phone as the device sports bezel only in the chin at the bottom.
Aesthetically, the Elephone S8 looks like the recently launched Xiaomi Mi Mix, but with better features. The handset does not come with sensors or speaker grilles on top and the back it sports a glossy design with a single camera and LED flash at the center. As for the specifications are concerned, the Elephone S8 sports a 6-inch Quad HD display with the pixel resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and 490ppi. According to the company’s claim, the handset flaunts a 92.5% of screen-to-body ratio and the screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass.
Under the hood, the S8 houses a MediaTek Helio X25 (MT6796T) SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Unfortunately, you can not expand the internal storage capacity furthermore, as there is no microSD card slot present in the phone. The Elephone S8 runs on the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and is backed by a massive non-removable 4000mAh battery.
On the optics front, the device sports a 21-megapixel Sony sensor at the rear end accompanied by dual-tone LED flash, 4K video recording, and the auto-focus feature. At the front end, an 8-megapixel snapper is placed to take better selfies. As for the connectivity options are concerned, the handset is supported by dual SIM (both Nano), 3.5 headphone jack, GPS, A-GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Apart from the fingerprint sensor, the Elephone S8 comes with Gravity Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Gyroscope, Hall Sensor and Ambient Light Sensor out-of-the-box.
Dimension wise the handset measures, 15.80 x 8.00 x 0.80 cm and is priced at $239.99 on Gearbest.
