Honor has launched its new phone, the Honor 6 Play. Honor is a smaller sub-brand of Huawei. It has just unveiled its latest phone, the Honor V9 Play. Now, alongside the V9 Play comes the Honor 6 Play. For now, this device will only be available in China for a sum of 599 yuan, a sum roughly equivalent to Rs 5,880.
The new Honor 6 Play has a series of decent specs ad feature which will probably make it a must-have for budget conscious customers. Featuring a 5-inch full HD display alongside a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, we believe that the display will be at par with the very best. At the heart of this new smartphone is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. This MediaTek processor comes with 2GB of RAM besides 16GB of internal/native storage. While this internal storage capacity seems to be pretty low, this can be expanded via a microSD card.
Our pet grip with the new Honor 6 Play is that it still runs on the now dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. On the bright side, this OS is paired with the steadily improving EMUI 4.1. Keeping the lights burning is a standard 3020mAh battery.
As far as the new Honor 6 Play‘s cameras are concerned, it comes with a pretty disappointing 8-megapixel rear/primary camera which has a f/2.2 aperture, besides dual LED flash light. Out front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash. This front cam has a f/2.0 aperture and an 84° wide-angle lens meant for better selfies. Connectivity options will include dual SIM connectivity, besides 4G VoLTE and Bluetooth 4.0. Besides, the standard connectivity options like WiFi, GPS, as well as a micro USB port are also supported. The new Honor 6 Play weighs a mere 150 grams and is likely to be ideal for one-handed use. Stay tuned for further updates
