Micromax HS3, New All-Screen Smartphone, Shows off Rear Panel

Earlier this week, we had informed you that Micromax would soon launch a new all-screen smartphone called the Micromax HS3, which is the model number of the smartphone. The new phone is set to run on the Android 7.1.2 OS and was recently spotted on GFXBench. Now, the rear panel of the device has leaked. It shows off an interesting design philosophy on what is Micromax’s first all-screen smartphone.

The new report was first filed by Gadgets Now and has shown off the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as a primary camera. There will be an all-metal design in line with other premium phones and it will follow the successful launch of the Micromax Canvas Infinity. Besides, such metal designs usually ensure that the phones have better durability.

No one knows for sure what the new device will be called. While some speculate that it will be a successor of the Canvas Infinity- which we have discussed here– others suggest that it will be a successor of the Selfie 2. Given that the Canvas Infinity was launched just a few weeks back, we do not expect to see a successor so soon. We can, however, give the Selfie 2 successor suggestion a shot, given that the Selfie 2 itself was launched back in July, and it has got enough limelight to make it a success.

We believe that this new device may be called either the Selfie 3 or it can herald an entirely new range of smartphones, perhaps Micromax’s first truly bezel-less, full-screen display smartphones.

Not much is known about the new phone’s innards at the moment. We expect that it will be powered by either by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 or Snapdragon 435 SoC, which makes it a budget entry. The processor may run in tandem with the Adreno 505 GPU, besides 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage capacity. Expect the new Micromax HS3 to come with a 20MP front camera and a 16MP rear/primary camera.
