Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) to be Launched in Both Exonys and Snapdragon Variants

Samsung used to manufacture the Galaxy A5 series of smartphones with two processors-both Exonys and Snapdragon. But this year, the Korean tech conglomerate launched the Galaxy A5 (2017) variant with only the Exonys chipset. But the latest rumors suggest that Samsung is again going back to the original trend and is set to launch the Galaxy A5 (2018) variant with two different processors.

The upcoming Galaxy A5 (2018) has been spotted on the famous benchmarking website Geekbench with the model number SM-A520F last month. And the fans started speculating this handset as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018). According to the Geekbench listing, the handset is going to be powered by the company’s own Exynos 7885 chipset. The smartphone scored 1541 points in the single-core test and 4351 points in the multi-core test.

On the other hand, another Samsung handset with the model number SM-A5300 hit the Geekbench benchmarking site in September. The handset featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset clubbed with 4GB RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. According to the experts, this is another variant of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018). This version scored 1593 points in the single-core test and 5834 points in the multi-core test. So it is very much clear that the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy A5 (2018) is more powerful than the Exonys counterpart.

As per the popular theory, Samsung is going to launch the Snapdragon variant in the Chinese market while the Exonys version is meant for the international markets. Not only the Galaxy A5, the upcoming Galaxy A7 (2018) will also be available in Snapdragon and Exonys variant.

Moreover, various reports also indicate that all the upcoming handsets of the Galaxy A Series, the A3, A5, and A7 will be identical in terms of aesthetic. All the three versions are expected to sport an Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Apart from that, these handsets might also come with a dedicated Bixby button, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a glass back.
