Of late, Panasonic has renewed its efforts in the Indian market to garner new mobile phone users. Panasonic has bet heavily on the Eluga range to succeed. Now, on top of this, we now have news that a new phone in the same range, which will perhaps be called the Panasonic Eluga C, will be debuted on November 29, probably in Taiwan. This means that yet another device is en route the international markets as well.
Only last week, we had reported that the Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 was all set to go on sale. Now, it seems, that since another Eluga device, christened the Eluga C, is in the works, the previous bit of news is superfluous. While the internationally renowned brand has yet to join the bandwagon of smartphones with an aspect ratio of 18:9, it cannot be dismissed outright. Because Panasonic had joined the league of players with AI-based personal digital assistants as well, with its Arbo. Arbo is the company’s answer to bigger players like Siri of Apple and Bixby of Samsung.
Last time we had covered a Panasonic device with Arbo, we had called it its secret weapon. Now, as far as the Panasonic Eluga C is concerned, it seems that the device will have a three-sided edge-to-edge display, which is great given that the bezel-less design is the mantra of the smartphone industry nowadays.
From what we could figure out, the device greatly resembles the Sharp Aquos devices. Other possible features may include the customary earpiece said to be positioned above the display as well as a physical home button housed with the fingerprint sensor. We believe that the sensors and the selfie camera will reside in the bottom bezel a la the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
Not much more is known about the Panasonic Eluga C, except that it runs on a version of Android 7.0 Nougat and that it is coming on November 29. Stay tuned with us till then.
