Thanks to the manufacturers at Vivo, due to which, the raging battle between the mid-tier smartphone giants continues to grow. While we already know that Vivo X20 Blue edition is scheduled to ship from November 11, Vivo silently launches another smartphone in its home country, touted as the Y79 smartphone. Vivo Y79 is seemingly the re-branded version of the recently launched Vivo V7+. The only difference witnessed is in terms of features.
Vivo Y79 Key Specs and Features
In terms of specs, the Vivo Y79 comes with a 6-inch full-screen HD “FullView” display that supports a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels (as reported here). In addition, fans will have a chance to get hands on a device with an aspect ratio of 18:9 (a similar feature which was incorporated in Vivo’s X20 device). In terms of percent area, the display covers up to 84.4 percent area. Thin side bezels and reduced bezels can be seen in the new Vivo Y79.
The smartphone houses an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The chipset comes with a combination of 4 GB of RAM alongside 64GB of native storage. With the help of a microSD card slot, one may further expand Vivo Y79‘s storage.
On the camera department, Vivo Y79 sports an excellent 13-megapixel Ultra HD photos with top notch clarity. The device flaunts a front-mounted whopping 24-megapixel Moonlight selfie camera with a 1/2.78-inch sensor and an aperture of f/2.0. On the front panel, the selfie shooter features an LED flash which offers ‘Moonlight Glow’ soft selfie light. The back panel consists of the fingerprint sensor to add more security measures.
Vivo Y79 Price and Availability
As per pricing, Vivo Y79 comes with a price tag of 2,498 Yuan. It is available in four color variants- Black, Matte Black, Rose Gold, and Champagne Gold. The preorders of the smartphone have already started and will be available from November 11th.
