Huawei Launches Upgraded MateBook D (2018) With 8th-Gen Intel Core Processors, Nvidia MX150 Graphics

Huawei has finally unveiled a newer and more upgraded version of the Huawei MateBook D (2018). The new laptop has improved processors and much-improved graphics properties. In April this year, we had spotted a MateBook on GeekBench, and it was said to carry 8GB of RAM. This new entry in the MateBook D range is slightly costlier and is also more powerful than the predecessors. Note that these new models will be sold, for now, only in China.

While the Core i5 model with 256GB SSD storage has a price tag of CNY 5,188 (an amount which is approximately Rs 50,761), the more premium Core i5 model with 128GB SSD plus 1TB HDD storage will set you back by CNY 5,488 (or approx. Rs 53,696). The Core i7 model, which is the most premium one, is currently priced at CNY 6,688, which translates toRs 65,437).

The new Huawei MateBook D (2018)

Design-wise, the new Huawei MateBook (2018) has the same design we saw in the 2017 models. This will essentially mean that there will be a metal unibody design while the models will be the very definition of sleekness at just 16.9mm thickness.

The new 2018 MateBook model boasts a 15.6-inch Full HD display that has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. With over 83 percent screen-to-body ratio and 350 nits of brightness, it looks bigger than most rivals and is certainly one of the brightest around. One major series are the latest 8th generation of Intel Core i5 and the Core i7 processors, making these new laptops among the most powerful ones in existence.

The most basic model has a Core i5 processor alongwith 256GB SSD storage. The other Core i5 variant has 128GB SSD plus a full of 1TB HDD storage. The most high-end Core i7 model has an astounding 128GB SSD plus 1TB HDD storage too. Like we said earlier, onboard is a very juicy 8GB of RAM. As far as the OS is concerned, no prizes for guessing: the new MateBook D range runs on the Windows 10 OS.

The other details are very impressive as well. There is a Nvidia MX150 graphics card and a 43.3Wh battery, which Huawei claims, can provide 10 hours of backup. Other features are Dolby panoramic speaker system etc. Connectivity options include two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 2.0 port, the ubiquitous HDMI port and a dual-antenna design meant for WiFi.
