The Oppo F5 Youth, a relatively inexpensive version of the Oppo F5 flagship phone, has now been launched in India. The price tag is a not-too-over-the-top Rs 16,990. This is the same device we had covered when it launched first in The Philippines late last month. At that time, we had predicted that this device would cost a shade under Rs 17,000. It now seems that we have been proven correct.
At the time of its launch in The Philippines, the price was Php 13,990. One great feature of the new Oppo F5 Youth is the 18:9 display which makes for seamless viewing of widescreen movies. This watered-down version of the Oppo F5 is just as good, however. It does have a lower RAM capacity and also has relatively unimpressive camera specs.
Oppo F5 Youth Specs and Features
The Oppo F5 Youth will be sold via both online as well as offline stores. It boasts a stunning 6-inch FHD+ display that has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Like we said, it also has an aspect ratio of 18:9, common in many contemporary smartphones. Under its hood, the Oppo F5 youth has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor which will work in tandem with 3GB RAM as well as a rather unimpressive 32GB of internal storage capacity, expandable further by using a microSD card. The new smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat which is topped with the proprietary ColorOS 3.2.
As far as the imaging facilities are concerned, the Oppo F5 Youth has a 13MP rear primary camera which also has LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. Complementing this is a 16MP selfie snapper which also has f/2.0 aperture and the signature AI-based beautification feature we saw aboard the Oppo F5. We liked the face unlock feature too. Given Oppo’s selfie obsession, it is no wonder that the new Oppo F5 Youth can churn out perfect selfies too!
