Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally started rolling out a new software update for its flagship smartphone Honor 7X. The new update with build number B192 brings in a host of new features for the smartphone. The most exciting of all the features is the face unlock feature which we were anticipating for a long time. Some of the other features are AR lens, redesigned weather application and it also brings the January 2018 security update along with many bug fixes.
The new update is currently being rolled out in China for 7X, starting with model number AL10. We currently do not have any information about when the new update would be made available in India. But by looking at the current state of affairs, we can deduce that the update would be available really soon for the Indian users of the smartphone.
Coming to the most anticipated face unlock feature, users would be able to use this feature by accessing Settings > Security and privacy > Face Unlock. This new feature would enable the users to unlock the device by using their face and it would also enable some more functions like secure payment authentication and more.
The new feature also brings in the new smart lock screen notifications features, which actually hides the notifications on the lock screen. The users would also be able to display lock screen notifications by using the face recognition feature. One may activate this new feature by accessing Settings > Security and privacy > Face Unlock > Smart lock screen notifications.
The update also brings in a new AR lens feature to the Honor 7X, which would be available in the normal camera application. To check out this new feature, the users need to dive into Camera > Modes > AR lens. This would allow the users to change the background of the image or even add new layers to an existing image.
Lastly, the new updates also bring a new weather application with better location tracking and more accurate weather predictions with accurate city names.
