New Gionee W919 Leaked Online, Expected to Launch Soon With a Clamshell Design

The Gionee W919 was spotted on the TENAA website last month, when it received certification from the Chinese licensing authority, and now it has reportedly resurfaced online. The new Gionee W919 is going to become the successor to Gionee W909 which was launched in March 2016.

The phone has appeared on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as reported by GizmoChina.  This implies that the phone may launch really soon in China.

As per the listing on the TENAA website, the device features two identical screen, one inside and the other on the front side. Both the screen offers 4.2-inch full HD displays with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The phone is powered by a 64-bit 2.5GHz octa-core processor and backed by 6GB RAM and an internal storage space of 128GB with further support of memory expansion through micro-SD card up to 256GB. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat version and also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. A 3,000 mAh battery powers the device.

Further, the Gionee W919 has a 16MP camera module and an LED flash on the rear of the phone, while on the front, it boasts a 5MP selfie camera. The handset measures 128 X 62.7 X 16.2mm and weighs around 230grams. The phone reportedly, will come only in a Black variant, according to the TENAA listing.

To recollect, its predecessor, the Gionee W909 which was launched in March 2016, also featured two identical screens with both offering 4.2-inch full HD display with 1280 X 720 pixels resolution. This dual SIM phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space, expandable up to 128GB with micro-SD card. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo 3.1 UI and a fingerprint sensor as well. It features a 16MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 2530 mAh battery powers the device with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS support.
