Japanese electronics company, Sharp, has launched a brand new smartphone in the mobile sector which is dubbed the Sharp S3. The Sharp S3 is now launched in its home country (in Japan). What makes Sharp’s new device an extraordinary one is the Android One program and furthermore it is based on Google’s most current Android version OS, i.e., Android Oreo.

The Sharp S3 bears a 5-inch IGZO display and supports a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone houses an old Snapdragon 430 chipset that is paired with 3GB of RAM. Furthermore, the device comes with 32GB internal storage which is expandable to 256GB using the microSD card slot. This Sharp device also offers the IPX water resistant as well as the IP6X dust-proof properties. In the camera department, the Sharp S3 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel camera alongside an LED flash on the rear panel. Up front, one would get a 5-megapixel camera for selfie shooting.
Powering the smartphone, there’s a 2700mAh battery which the company claims to deliver 22 hours on LTE network as well as a total of 605 hours standby time. Connectivity options on the Sharp S3 offer 4G LTE and VoLTE support. Besides these, there’s also an inclusion of a number of options such as Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging, and a 3.5mm audio port.

While Google has been directing OEMs to Android One, the Japanse company happens to be the latest brand to join this very bandwagon (as reported here). The Sharp S3 which launched in Japan is the mobile phone device that comes with a price tag of 32,400 Yen, that translates to roughly $298 or Rs. 19,000. As per availability, the Sharp S3 is now official in four color options: Turquoise, Navy Black, White, and Pink. Fans need to keep an eye on every possible news regarding the availability of the device in other markets as there’s no official confirmation given by the company.
