MWC 2018: Samsung Galaxy S9 Specifications and Design Leaked on Reddit Just Ahead of Launch

Samsung will be unveiling the latest version of its flagship devices, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, a day ahead of the MWC 2018 event. Until now, we have seen a number of leaks of the new set of devices revealing a lot about the possible specifications and design. Now, a Reddit user has recently leaked some more information about the latest flagship devices through an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session after possibly getting his hands on the device for some time.

The unnamed Reddit user has reported that he has spent around 20 minutes with the new Galaxy S9. The user has now deleted the profile, but not before confirming that the Galaxy S9 will come with a bezel-less design and looks quite similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. It implies, that the Galaxy S9 may feature an edge-to-edge screen with Infinity Display feature just like the Galaxy S8. Apart from that, the Galaxy S9 will feature the fingerprint sensor just below the camera on the rear side of the phone instead of being on the side of the camera lens in Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The Reddit user has also confirmed the presence of a dual-camera setup on the rear panel of the phone.

Apart from the design specifications, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus may ship with iPhone X like Animoji feature which is known as 3D Emoji. This feature may take the Samsung devices at par with the iPhone X, if not better.

The Galaxy S9 is also expected to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera with a variable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4 and super slow motion video recording feature. On the front, it will feature an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling with f/1.6 aperture. The Galaxy S9+ may feature dual rear camera setup with two 12-megapixel sensors with PDAF, 2x optical zoom, autofocus and LED flash. Both the devices are likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset for the US variants and Exynos 9810 SoC for European countries and India. Information about the price has not been revealed till now and we have to wait till 25 February for the official launch.
