Nokia 7 Plus Launched at MWC 2018 with 6-inch Display and Dual Rear Cameras

The Nokia 7 Plus has been officially unveiled by HMD Global on Sunday, just ahead of the MWC 2018 in Barcelona. It is an Android One smartphone which features dual-rear camera setup just like its predecessor, the Nokia 7. The company has reportedly used Zeiss optics for its rear cameras that specializes in low-light imaging.

The rear cameras offer Bothie feature, that was first seen on the Nokia 8 and also comes with a 6-inch full HD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, making it the first smartphone from HMD Global to feature the longer aspect ratio.

The price of the Nokia 7 Plus has been set at EUR 399, which is approximately Rs 31,750 excluding taxes. The exact price for India has not been revealed by the company yet and the device is set to arrive in April this year in two color variants of Black/Copper and White/Copper.

Coming to the specifications of the device, the Nokia 7 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo version with no customizations on top of the stock Android since it is an Android One smartphone. The device boasts a 6-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass cover on the top and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB of DDR RAM.

Talking about the optics department, the device comes with a dual-camera setup on the rear with a 12-megapixel  wide-angle primary camera with a f/1.75 aperture as well as, a 13-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.6 aperture. It also features a dual-tone LED flash with Zeiss optics. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel camera with fixed focus and f/2.0 aperture.

The device has an internal storage space of 64GB which is further expandable to 256GB via micro-SD card support. On the connectivity front, the device features 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Alongside, it features a fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, digital compass, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. It is fueled by a massive 3800mAh battery that does not support the quick charging feature.
