If the latest report is what fans may consider, the South Korean company, Samsung has already started rolling out the stable version of Android Oreo for the previously launched Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices. Our earlier reports also shed lights on the fact that Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has already started receiving the Oreo flavor and with that, it has been certified by WiFi Alliance.
The latest Android Oreo update for Samsung‘s Galaxy S8 and S8+ has been rolled out only in the regions of Germany. However, it is also expected to soon roll out in other countries too. Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones were initially launched with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on the software front, with Samsung Experience user interface on the top of it. From the report via SamMobile, the Oreo rollout has started with the firmware version G955XXU1CRAP for Galaxy S8+ in Germany. Weighing 487MB, the rollout offers the most recent February 2018 security patch.
The report also points out that the beta testers will initially get the update which will be followed by the existing owners currently on Nougat. Upon receiving the Oreo update, customers will be able to get hold of most exciting features. To begin with, there is the picture-in-picture mode which avails users to two tasks in one go. Instantly, one can minimize the YouTube video while texting or writing an email. Google has reportedly included Android Vitals, which helps in optimizing the battery life of the phone, startup time among other features.
Another feature being the Notification dots, which are tiny chat heads for the notifications. Users will be able to long-tap on any Notification Dot, upon which it will preview the notification. One can even drag down to see the full notification, swipe to dismiss, or even tap in order to open the app. One can remember the password seamlessly with Autofill framework which allows customers to autofill their user id as well as passwords.
