Days after Sony Xperia XZ Premium was patched against Spectre and Meltdown, the Japanese tech giant decided to roll out a batch of security updates for Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact as well. This was initiated in order to put an end to the most feared security vulnerabilities of this year.
The update which is releasing to these Xperia models will bring the number of version to 47.1.A.12.75, reports. As per the update is concerned, it comes with the Android security patch of February 2018, and the latest one rolled out by Google for its own operating system.
The Japanese giant is now showing a great software support for its Xperia devices and Sony is one of the foremost companies to offer an update against the Spectre and Meltdown. However, the February security patch is not the only update that has been brought to these Sony Xperia devices: the Sony Xperia XZ1 and Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.
To go into the depths of the update, there is also a refreshed user interface, reports GizmoChina. It comes with better app shortcuts as well as a new Clock app icon. The update furthermore brings the Xperia Home to the version 11.2.A.0.6 which is capable of identifying these new renewals. One who hasn’t yet received the update for Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact, head towards the Settings option and then tap on Info about the device, upon then visit the Software updates.
To recall, the Sony Xperia XZ1 sports a 5.2-inch full-HD HDR display and supports a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. On the hardware front, the device houses a Snapdragon 835 processor and is paired with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. The Sony Xperia XZ1 features a MotionEye 19-megapixel Exmor RS sensor camera and also sports 3D scanning abilities. On the contrary, the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact features a 4.6-inch Full HD display and supports a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The imaging department consists of 8-megapixel shooters at both ends of the device and comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the Home button.
