HTC U12 May Arrive with White Matte Metal and Glass Finish with Borrowed Design from HTC U11 and U11+

HTC will be launching a limited number of phones this year as the company wants to focus mainly on the R&D  department and its marketing campaigns because of heavy losses last year. One of the most anticipated launches from the company this year is going to be the HTC 12 which has been nicknamed as HTC Imagine. We have previously reported about a leak that revealed all the specs of the new device and now a new report has surfaced to reveal some of its design elements.

According to an HTC source, the new smartphone will borrow design from its predecessors, the HTC U11, and U11+ devices. The phone is expected to arrive with a metal frame and curved glass on the rear and front of the phone. It is also said to feature a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel of the device. The new report has claimed that the device could sport a white matte metal and glass finish for a completely revamped look.

A renowned tipster, LlabTooFer has also revealed some specifications of the new device via a tweet a couple of days ago. He has claimed that the device will come with a dual camera setup on the rear panel. The primary camera will be of 16-megapixel and the secondary camera of 12-megapixel. It will feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

Meanwhile, as per rumor mills, the device could sport a 5.99-inch QHD+ display screen and may feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood. It is also said to come with Google’s Project Treble support for faster software updates.

The tipster has also revealed that the HTC U12 will launch globally around April 2018. The phone will run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with HTC Edge Sense UI on top of it. It may be backed with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage space. The phone will be fueled by a 3420mAh battery and may also arrive with IP68 water and dust proof rating and HTC Face Unlock feature.
