Nokia 9 May Come with in-display Fingerprint Sensor; Likely Launch in September 2018

We have already seen HMD Global launching a few smartphones at the MWC 2018 event, that was recently held in Barcelona. The company launched, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 (Sirocco) and the Android One Go Edition based Nokia 1. Nokia did not bring many upgrades to its flagship devices this year, probably because the company wanted to focus more on launching Android Go edition based devices.

However, there are reports that HMD Global may launch the premium Nokia 8 Pro and the Nokia 9 flagship devices by the end of the year. According to a report by NokiaLatest, the Nokia 9, which is the latest flagship device of the company, may come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device may be launched in the third quarter of 2018, probably at IFA 2018 trade show, which will be held in Berlin, Germany.

Previous reports have already claimed that the Nokia 9 could be launched towards the end of the summer to capitalize on the holiday season ahead. Just like the previous devices of Nokia, the Nokia 9 could also be an Android One go edition based smartphone with stock Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. It will feature the in-display fingerprint sensor, unlike previous smartphones that feature the sensor on the rear panel just below the rear cameras. In addition, the Nokia 9 may also feature a curved display panel just like the previously launched Nokia 8 Sirocco device.

Talking about the specs, the device could feature a 5.3-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 X 2560 pixels. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. It may be fueled by a 3800 mAh non-removable battery. The Nokia 9 may feature a 22-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
