Samsung Electronics recently unveiled its next-generation 4K QLED TVs in the United States of America. The latest range of its flagship QLED (Quantum Light Emitting Diode) TVs that also include the 8K AI-powered TV incorporates an “Ambient Mode” feature that can replicate the pattern on the wall behind the TV and seamlessly blend with the surroundings.
To enable this effect, one needs to download the Samsung SmartThings app (available for Android and iOS devices) on their smartphones and then take a picture of the wall behind the TV. The app will then send the picture to the QLED TV to achieve this new feature. Samsung also gave a demonstration of the new feature that showed only the frame of the TV to be visible with the screen completely blending with the pattern of the wall. The Ambient Mode will also provide information like local weather updates and important news throughout the day.
The new TV range also comes with Bixby support that will enable users to use voice commands to listen to their favorite songs or watch their favorite movies. “Our 2018 line-up of televisions are most innovative and sophisticated yet, designed for today’s consumer who is mindful of the aesthetics of their space,” Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said while responding to reporters at the launch event.
Samsung’s latest range of QLED TVs will be available later this month and the price has not been revealed by the company yet. The TVs come with just one thin cable that feeds both power and data signals to the TV giving it an aesthetic look.
“We are excited for consumers to experience our new TV line-up and features that offer more freedom to decide where and how the TV can be best enjoyed within the home,” Han also added.
Samsung also showcased a new range of audio devices at the launch event that includes HW-K950 Dolby Atmos soundbar, HW-N650 for gamers and HW-NW700 that features a wall-mounted design.
