Sony Launches A7 III Full Frame Mirrorless Camera with Exmor R-CMOS Sensor in India

Sony has expanded its entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera range in India by unveiling the A7 III versatile camera with a newly-developed 24.2-megapixel Exmor R-CMOS sensor. Sony India announced yesterday that the latest camera will be available for purchase from March 26 onwards.

The A7 III camera comes with a price tag of Rs 1,64,990 for the body only. The bundle kit with the A7 III camera body and 28-70 lens will cost Rs 1,79,990. The camera features fast shooting capabilities at 10 fps (frames per second) with either mechanical shutter or silent shooting. It also comes with diverse 4K4 video capabilities and has an updated “BIONZ X” processing unit that has the capability of boosting the processing speed by nearly 1.8 times than its predecessor, the A7 II.

Sony has also added “4D Focus” capabilities and has 425 contrast autofocus points that can work with 693-point focal-plane phase detection AF system that covers around 93 percent of the frame.

The device comes with an updated image-processing system that enables users to shoot full HD resolution images up to 10 frames-per-second (fps) with continuous, accurate AF/auto exposure tracking up to 177 JPEG images, 89 compressed images, and 40 RAW unprocessed images.

The A7 III also features high precision stabilization that uses sensors and algorithms to achieve a 5.0 step shutter speed. The system also compensates for up to 5 types of camera shakes with a wide variety of lenses.

It has an impressive ISO range of 100 to 51200 which is expandable to ISO 50 to 204800 for taking still photographs and an overall 1.5 stop improvement in image quality. It also features a massive 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivity settings. Additionally, the Sony A7 III also offers 4K video recording across the full width of the full-frame image sensor.

It is also equipped with an enhanced battery that offers up to 710 shots before it needs recharging again. Sony has also claimed that the A7 III offers the longest battery life among all mirror-less cameras.
