HMD Global Rolls out Android 8.1 Oreo Update for Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus in India

HMD Global, the official licensee of Nokia has started to roll out the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 7 Plus. In addition, the company has also started to roll out the Android 8.0 update for the Nokia 3. The Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 7 Plus was recently launched in India running on Android 8.0 out of the box. The company had announced then that it would roll out the Android 8.1 update soon. Along with the update, the April Android Security Patch is also being rolled out.

The Android 8.1 update for the Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a size of 801.4MB and it brings on board, a host of new features like battery saving navigation buttons, new settings menu, revamped power menu, and a Bluetooth battery percentage. The Android 8.1 update for the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a size of 590.2MB and brings the exact same features.

HMD Global had unveiled the Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 7 Plus last week in India. The Nokia 6(2018) went on sale on April 6 with a price tag of Rs 16,999 and is currently available with 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. Talking about the specifications of the handset, the Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. On the camera front, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel rear camera with ZEISS optics and twin tone LED flash. On the front, it boasts an 8-megapixel fixed-focus sensor for selfies and video calling.

The Nokia 7 Plus will be available for pre-order from April 20 onwards and is expected to go on sale soon. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 25,999 and will be available on Amazon along with Nokia retail stores in the country. In terms of specs, the smartphone features a 6-inch full HD display screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. On the camera front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
