Nokia X (2018) Gets 3C Certified in China; Tipped to Launch on April 27

HMD Global which holds the license for manufacturing Nokia phones has reportedly started work on a new smartphone. After launching a slew of smartphones at the MWC 2018 which include the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco, the next smartphone in the offing seems to be the Nokia X or Nokia 10. The smartphone is expected to be a mid-range smartphone and has already received the 3C certification in China which indicates that it may launch very soon.

As per a report by Nokiamobile.net, the Nokia X (2018) may get launched on April 27. The report also claims that a Nokia phone with model number TA-1099 has received the 3C certification in China. Apart from that, not much is known about the handset at the present time however, the Nokia X (2018) is not expected to be a flagship device. The Nokia 9 instead may become the next flagship device from HMD Global.

The listing of Nokia X (2018) on the 3C certification website has shed some information about the specifications of the smartphone. The listing reveals that the smartphone will arrive with a regular 10w charger. It indicates that the smartphone will not feature the fast charging facility. It is expected that the Nokia X (2018) will only be an upgrade of the original Nokia X that was launched in 2014. The listing does not provide any other information about the upcoming device.

Earlier reports had indicated that the Nokia X (2018) may launch in two variants since two models with model numbers TA-1099 and TA-1109 were spotted online. Apart from that, a digital hoarding of the upcoming Nokia X (2018) was also spotted at a mall. The poster mentioned the name of the device as Nokia X and indicated the date of April 27. So it is expected that the smartphone may be launched on April 27.

As per earlier reports, the Nokia X (2018) is expected to be a budget smartphone and may arrive in two variants. One of the models is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset while the other may come with a MediaTek chipset.
