Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which is the most anticipated upcoming game of the COD franchise might have a private beta version launched in August. As per the listing on a retailer’s website which has been removed at the time of writing this report, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may have a beta version. If it turns out to be true then it would be in line with its predecessor, Black Ops 3 that also had a private beta version.
The pre-order page of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on GameStop Germany website mentioned a private beta version of the game before being removed a couple of hours later. The notification first spotted by Charlie Intel and can be seen courtesy of Google’s Cache services states “Anticipated launch of Private Beta is in August. The beta access codes will be sent shortly before the beta starts. Minimum duration of the beta: 3 days. Internet connection required.”
Since the game’s developer Treyarch or publisher Activision have neither made an official announcement till now regarding the launch of the beta, GameStop Germany has changed its earlier notification which now states “Availability and start date(s) of the beta on the respective platforms may change. For more details visit www.callofduty.com/beta. Minimum duration of the beta: 3 days. Limited time, as long as there are beta codes. Internet connection required. For the PC version, no codes are sent because no code is needed for playing.”
Courtesy of the released trailers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, we now know that the beta will have different start dates and time on different platforms. Gamers who play on the PS4 will get the beta first of all. You will need to preorder the game to get the beta version like always. If you order the game digitally through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store or Battle.net, you will be automatically registered to get the beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. If you order a physical copy of the game, you will get a beta code on the receipt or via email after registration.
