Google Launches ‘Google One’ to Offer its Cloud Storage Plans at Cheaper Rates with New Features

Google has introduced ‘Google One’ to upgrade it’s paid Google Drive cloud storage plans with new features at cheaper rates. The new upgrade will provide more storage space to the users at much cheaper rates than before and will also entitle the users to interact with Google experts to use the latest products of the company more efficiently.

Apparently, Google has not made any changes to the basic storage capacity of 15GB for free users. However, users who want to purchase storage ranging from 100GB and 30TB now has new plans starting at $1.99 per month (Rs 134 approximately for 30 days). Apart from the upgrade, the paid plan can also be shared with family members, entitling users to share photos or videos with their family members seamlessly without incurring any extra expense.

Google also announced that all the existing Google Drive paid customers will be upgraded to Google One automatically over the next few months. The upgrade will be available in the US in the beginning followed by other countries. Google will also send an email to paid subscribers that users will need to confirm to proceed with the upgrade. The company has said that it has planned to complete the rollout procedure by the end of this year. This upgrade, however, will not affect GSuite business customers.

Talking about the paid plans of Google Drive, there has been no change to the price for users opting for 100GB of storage. It is still available at $1.99 per month. However, users who want to purchase the 200GB storage plan, they can now do so at a lower price of $2.99 per month. Similarly, users who are currently using the 1TB plan will be upgraded to 2TB storage plan at no additional cost, but new customers opting for a 2TB plan will have to shell out $9.99 per month.

Along with the upgraded storage plans, Google One also introduces the use of Google experts to better understand the features of the company products and use them more efficiently. Google will also offer some extra services like free credits on Google Play or deals on select hotels found on Google search.
