Rage 2 Trailer Revealed Ahead of Official Announcement from Bethesda

The sequel to the 2011 released Rage was first revealed on Walmart Canada’s website a few weeks ago. Now a trailer of Rage 2 has been leaked online courtesy of pre-roll ads on Twitter showing exactly what we can expect from the new game. The revelation comes just ahead of the official announcement from its publisher Bethesda, that is scheduled for today i.e May 14, 2018.

Although the trailer does not contain gameplay, it does reveal that the new installment is going to be more severe than its predecessor in terms of tone. The game is quite similar to the Borderlands series of games. The trailer consists of quick cuts of several enemies like ghosts, scorchers, soldiers from the Authority and a huge monster that is similar to the one found on the Dead City level of the first game, Rage. The multiple shots of the enemies are backed by an audio track that invites players to get ready to die. The full gameplay is expected to be revealed at the E3 2018 conference by Bethesda, the publisher of the game.

Also as per some sources, Rage 2 may be made available on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC in this year itself. However, since a number of games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2 lined up for release towards the end of the year, it remains to be seen whether Bethesda decides to release Rage 2 in 2018.

To recall, the first Rage game was released on the iOS platform named Rage: Mutant Bash TV in 2010. It was followed by Rage, which was released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in October 2011. It had a long development cycle courtesy of a switch from publisher EA to Bethesda by its creator ID Software.  Set in a post-apocalyptic era, the game features great visuals and advanced shooting mechanics that made it very popular. The new installment is likely to turn out to be even better with more advanced features and engaging gameplay.
