Airtel Revises its Rs 649 Postpaid Plan to Offer 90GB of Data and Unlimited Voice Calls to Take on its Rivals

One of the largest telecom operators in India, Airtel has reportedly revamped its Rs 649 postpaid plan to offer 80% more data than earlier to challenge its rivals like Reliance Jio and Vodafone. Airtel had introduced this plan in April after a period of discontinuation due to unknown reasons. The plan falls under the ‘My Plan Infinity’ scheme that also includes other postpaid plans of various denominations like Rs 399, Rs 499, Rs 799 and Rs 1,199. While most of the other plans remain unchanged, the company has decided to revamp the Rs 649 plan.

The revamped postpaid plan will now offer 90GB of data instead of 50GB data that was offered earlier. In addition, the company is also providing rollover facility for unused data to the next month. This means if you have unused data by the end of the monthly cycle, it will get rolled over and get added to the fresh quota of next month. To compare, Reliance Jio currently has only one postpaid plan of Rs 199 that offers 25GB of data to its subscribers.

Apart from the data benefits, the Rs 649 postpaid plan also comes with additional benefits like 100 SMS messages per day and unlimited local/STD and roaming calls to any network in the country. Also, it does not come with any FUP restrictions on either the data or voice calls reports TelecomTalk.

In addition to these facilities, Airtel is also offering some more benefits to its customers in the Rs 649 plan. Subscribers opting for this plan will get a free add-on connection facility for a child’s postpaid connection and get the same benefits. Along with these offers, customers will also get a free subscription to Wynk TV, accidental handset damage protection and a complimentary subscription to Airtel Live apps.

As of now, the revamped plan is only available to users in select circles and we are expecting a wider rollout in the coming days.
