State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a new prepaid plan for its users to offer more data just ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018. Dubbed as FIFA World Cup Special Data STV of Rs 149, the latest plan from the company is reportedly to counter Reliance Jio that is currently offering 1.5GB more data per day to watch FIFA World Cup matches live.
Under this new plan, users will get 4GB of data per day with a validity of 28 days at Rs 149 as per Telecom Talk. The plan will be available from tomorrow, June 14 until July 15, covering the entire duration of the FIFA World Cup 2018. The plan will available to users of all circles in the country except Mumbai and Delhi. It is also to be noted that this plan offers data only and does not come with unlimited calling or SMS benefits unlike plans of other operators.
The move from BSNL is reportedly to counter the Double Dhamaka Offer launched by Reliance Jio recently which is offering 1.5GB additional data on a host of existing prepaid plans for the users. Talking of the plans of Reliance Jio, all prepaid users will get 1.5GB more data clubbed with the original data allocated for any plan. Likewise, users recharging with Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 499 will now get 3GB of data per day instead of 1.5GB data per day. Similarly, users recharging with Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448 and Rs 498 will now get 3.5GB of data per day instead of the original 2GB per day. The validity period of all the plans remains unchanged.
Meanwhile, BSNL had also launched two new FTTH (Fibre to the Home)plans for its users. Called Fibre Combo ULD 777 and Fibre Combo ULD 1277, the plans offer a lot of data with 50Mbps and 100Mbps browsing speeds respectively. While the first plan offers 500GB of data, the second plan offers 750GB data per month.
