BSNL Launches New Prepaid Plan of Rs 786 to Offer 300GB Data over 150 Days

State-run BSNL has been very active recently in launching new plans for its customers with enhanced data and unlimited calling benefits. The new plans are being launched to keep its existing base of customers intact and also to lure new customers from private operators like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone. Now, to celebrate the festival of Ramadan that recently concluded the company has launched a new Rs 786 prepaid plan to offer 300GB of data over a 150 day period.

This new prepaid plan offers 2GB of data per day to the users with a validity period of 150 days. However, it is to be noted that it offers 3G speeds only and not 4G unlike other plans from private operators that currents offer 4G internet connectivity. Additionally, the plan also offers unlimited voice calling facility across all networks of the country without any FUP limits along with 100 SMS messages per day.

The plan is however not available for customers of Mumbai and Delhi circles as BSNL operates as MTNL in those two regions of the country.

In addition to the Ramzan plan, the company also launched the FIFA plan that offers 4GB of data per day to the users to stream live matches of the FIFA World Cup 2018. This plan comes with a price tag of Rs 149 and initially provided a validity of 31 days but was later revised to 28 days only. Notably, this plan does not offer any calling or SMS benefits to the users, unlike other plans.

Coming to similar plans from Reliance Jio, it competes with the Rs 1,999 plan from Jio that currently offers 125GB of data along with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS messages per day with a total validity of 180 days. The plan also offers a free subscription to Jio bouquet of applications like Jio Cinema, Jio TV, etc. The BSNL plan, however, is a lot cheaper and also offers more data albeit with a shorter validity period. Another major difference between the two plans is that BSNL offers only 3G while all the plans of Reliance Jio are for 4G VoLTE users.
