Instagram Rolls Out Music in Stories Feature on its iOS App

Instagram which is currently owned by Facebook has announced the introduction of a new feature. Called Music in Stories, the new feature is being rolled out on the iOS version of the app. The new feature will enable the users to add music to their Instagram stories if they want.

“Today, we’re introducing music in Instagram Stories. Now you can add a soundtrack to your story that fits any moment and helps you express how you’re feeling. Instagram Stories is now used by 400 million every day, and we’re excited to give our community new ways to feel closer to their friends and followers,” Instagram posted on its official blog

Instagram is currently rolling out the facility for iOS users only and it seems that the Android users will have to wait for a few days to receive this new feature. The company has also announced that the Music in Stories will be rolled out in selected 51 countries of the world only. So, if you do not receive the update, it would mean your country is not on the list.

If you want to check out this new feature, you will have to tap on ‘Add Stickers’ option on Instagram Stories, where the new music icon will be visible. Tapping on the music icon will provide you a library of songs to choose from in the app itself. After selecting a particular song, you will also get the option to fast forward or rewind the song to pick up a particular portion to fit into your story. “You can also choose a song before capturing a video. When you open the camera, swipe to the new “Music” option under the record button. Search for a song, select the exact part you want, and record a video as the song plays in the background,” the Instagram blog post further said.

Users watching your Instagram Stories will get to hear the song along with the photo or video that you decide to share and will also see a sticker with the song title and the composer.
